Moving Day

 

Finally it is time to say goodbye to this rental place for 3 years. Time to move up. Rent an U-Haul to help get the job done.

Bought the mattress vacuum bag, put the mattress in, zip it tight, suck the air out, and roll it. It is really amazing.

I think we should have the form inside the bag as well.

Disassemble the bed frame is easy. Just don't loss the little parts. Put them in a bag. After taking care of the big items, just put things into boxes according to the label. Otherwise you end up re-open all the boxes looking for one thing!

If you will be away for a while, renting a storage space is one option. Otherwise parent's garage is always the backup choice:)

Santa Cruz is a beautiful place, but the rental is so expensive. It was 3k 3 years ago. Now the landlord is asking for 4k for this small two bed rooms! Another drawback is the traffic. Highway 17 is the only route between Santa Cruz and San Jose (as far as I know). During the weekend, the two lanes always pile up.

U-Haul says $19.95 on the car. It ends up around $100! Plus the gas. So deceiving. But it is better than making multiple trips with your own car.
