Last time I've mentioned the Stevens Creek Trail. This is a trail in Mountain View, going south to north along the creek. From my place to the trailhead is about 6miles. So let's check it out.

You can avoid the major roads as much as you can. Going northwest, just don't pass the Highway 85. The trail entrance is the Stevens Creek Trail Bridge on Google maps. This one is much larger than the one I wrote before. You can bike on it.

On the other side is the trailhead. Today I would just get a taste of it. Along the path, when it hits the roads, they build underpath (below).
When it hits highway. Since it is much wider, there is overpath (below).
The scenary is enjoyable as well (below).
So when they call it bike trail, other than the emergency phone poles, there are "fix it" stands.
Overall, I would definitely come again. If driving, may need to part at the Sleeper Park.
